Hello,
Our regular posts will be temporarily interrupted. We are taking a little time off to make some decisions concerning this blog, our current situation, life… that sort of stuff.
GoBennington is grateful for it’s readers and tipsters, but we need sponsorship and advertisers for financial support in order to continue. We hope to provide a locally owned contrast to the existing monopoly outlet. We urge you to tell businesses we sent you their way and recommend they check us out, or better yet, place an ad.

At its founding in 1834, the Episcopal Parish in Bennington chose the Apostle Peter as its Patron; therefore, the Parish celebrates the Patronal Festival on the Sunday following January 18 (the Feast of the Confession of St. Peter, Apostle). In St. Peter’s Church building, there are many reminders of the Patron saint. The stained glass windows at the Pleasant Street end of the nave of the church depict scenes from the life of Peter. Pictures, tapestries, and banners that utilize keys as a symbol of the saint may be seen throughout the church building.
During all three liturgies (8 am, 10 am, 5 pm) on Sunday, Jan. 20, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Pleasant St., Bennington, VT, the church will honor Peter, the patron of St. Peter’s Church, Bennington. The Gospel reading for the day (John 1:42) relates how Simon was brought to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You are to be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter). Sunday’s music at the 10 am. liturgy will reflect the festive spirit of the day.
