At the museum for a residency to develop Ghost Ship Rodez, Allen checks into the B-10 for an Alt Cabaret performance of his left-leaning country tunes. Along with friends Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Joe Ely, Allen was the trailblazer of the Lubbock, Texas scene perhaps the most progressive movement in contemporary country music, with a liberal perspective and a penchant for topical songwriting. Allen also contributed a song to David Byrne’s only feature film True Stories.
