Foods of the Jewish Diaspora lecture, Williams College ’62 Center, Jan 17

Darra Goldstein, Professor of Russian at Williams College and editor of Gastronomica: The Journal of Food and Culture , will give a lecture and demonstration on the food of Jewish exile, which will be followed a tasting. Part of a year-long series of lectures, films and events sponsored by the program in Jewish Studies, the Bronfman Committee and the Wiener Lecture Fund.

Preschool Story Hour, Bennington Free Library, Jan 16

Winter 2008 Story Hours, every Wednesday. Children 3 to 5 years will explore the world of literature with Linda ad Chris as their guides. Art, games, songs, science and math activities will be used to enhance their time together. Reading to children greatly enhances the development of their reading and language skills and we encourage all parents to participate. Story Hours are held throughout the year and are open to children accompanied by an adult, or caregivers with three or less children. Larger groups may make special arrangements to visit the Library for a story at other times.
