Completely unverified, and possibly TOP SECRET, we have learned that BabyLegs, mentioned in our very first 12 (shopping) Days post has made Oprah’s Favorite Things list. Usually this doesn’t affect our shopping habits. But if we can live like a billionaire and pick up these charming and stylish accessories, without buying 20 Range Rovers, we feel enabled. Day Seven: South Street Café

If you’ve been reading the “12 (shopping) Day” posts you can probably tell that we are fans of all the places we’re listing. However South Street Café has a very special place in our heart. Without them we’d be sitting like a blob in our darkened apartment, trying in vain to remember how to stand up. Perhaps I’ve said too much.

Holiday Bazaar, Arlington Memorial High School, Dec 20

Just in time for last minute gift and treat shopping, Arlington Memorial High is having its annual Community Service Holiday Bazaar. There will be a variety of food gifts for purchase including homemade granola, chocolate-covered pretzels, whole wheat and bran pancake mix, sweet cinnamon rolls, Scandinavian almond cakes and braided fruit and nut breads. Members of the school’s community service organization are coordinating a silent auction of donated items.

Proceeds from the bazaar will benefit several area non-profits.

12 (shopping) Days of Christmas, message

We’ve been asked to try and post our recommendations earlier as Christmas approaches, and beginning today we plan on working harder to do that.

Since we are at the halfway point we are also opening the floor to suggestions or requests for your favorite store to list. Try and get them into us soon and we’ll try to get them together. It usually takes us a day or two to go to the place, meet with the owner, take photos, etc, so don’t delay.
