Renowned pianist Jeni Slotchiver returns to the museum to present 20th-century works from her new album.

Start with Art Preschool Series, The Clark, Dec 8 (MA)

Spend an hour exploring the galleries with your preschool age child. Use a gallery guide specially designed for this age group or attend “Painting Talks.” The morning will also include art-making activities beginning at 11. Best suited for four- to six-year-olds.

St. Peter’s Christmas Tea, Dec 8

The community is cordially invited to St. Peter’s Church Christmas Tea, to be held this year on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Pleasant St., Bennington, VT. Tickets are $6.00 and may be purchased at the door or reserved through the church office, 802-442-2911.

A tradition for more than 50 years, the Christmas Tea has become St. Peter’s Christmas gift to the community, providing a way to welcome in the joy of the Christmas season.

In addition to the Tea Room, St. Peter’s Christmas Shop will be open in the Guild Room with crafts and homemade goodies for purchase. Highlights in the Christmas Shop this year are Christmas tree ornaments, hand-knitted and crocheted hats and mittens, hand-crafted dolls and stuffed animals, hand made cards and notes, and goodies such as home made fudge, snack mix, various breads, and candies, all ready to give as gifts.

Annual Holiday Open House, Second Chance Animal Center, Dec 8

Attention pet lovers, Second Chance Animal Center in Shaftsbury presents it’s Annual Holiday Open House from 11 am – 3 pm. Refreshments, tours, balloons, Santa visit and more. For a donation of $15 a hand designed photo frame can be hung on one of the shelter’s Angel Trees (ornaments will be returned to donor in Jan.).

Uncle Vova’s Tree, Hildene, Dec 8

At Hildene in Manchester, interactive reading of the popular children’s book, Uncle Vova’s Tree. Geared for children five to eight years of age. 10:30 at the Welcome Center. Materials Fee $3 per child – Parent is free when accompanied by a child. Registration is strongly recommended. Also includes snacks, ornament making, tree decorating and tree lighting.
