Author Elizabeth Cody Kimmel will present a special gift package featuring her delightful book My Penguin Osbert. In My Penguin Osbert, a boy named Joe writes a very careful letter to Santa Claus, hoping to avoid some of the misunderstandings they’ve had in the past. He requests a real penguin, and awakens Christmas morning to find a living, breathing penguin named Osbert under the tree.
The new hardcover version of the popular book comes with its very own Osbert plush toy.
Saturday, December 8 at 11 am. For more information call 802-362-2200.

Not a lot of advance notice on this one, but I couldn’t pass up listing it. Billed on the flyer I saw, this is North Bennington’s first Hollywood movie appearance! Crime/noir fare from 1974. Information on this is spotty at best, but I found this tease at IMDB: A banker troubled by both business and personal problems is transferred to a small town. There he meets and seduces an older woman. Together, they decide to pull off a payroll holdup together.
Showing tomorrow Thursday, December 6, 7 pm, at Bennington College, Barn 100.
Includes a presentation on the film’s creation before the screening. 92 minutes, contains some domestic violence and 70s nudity.
